The sound of the city
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty moved its headquarters from Munich to Prague in 1995, which is why a city of just over a million people streams news to Iran and Russia. Persian radio and news radio go further.
A little history
Czech Radio's building on Vinohradská Street was fought over twice: in May 1945, when its call to arms began the Prague uprising, and in August 1968, when crowds tried to defend it from Soviet tanks.
Listening from elsewhere
Prague keeps Central European Time — one hour ahead of UTC in winter and two in summer.
