A little history

Pride Month is held in June to mark the Stonewall uprising in New York in June 1969; the first Pride marches followed a year later. The music has always been part of it — disco and hi-NRG in the 1970s and 80s, Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" and Sylvester's anthems, and the house music that grew up in Black and gay clubs in Chicago and New York. Disco radio, house music radio and 90s radio go further.
