About Cantonese radio

Cantonese — Yue — is the language of Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong, and of many older Chinese communities abroad, from Vancouver and Toronto to London and Sydney. Cantopop, which took shape in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 80s with singers such as Sam Hui, Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui, fills its music stations, and RTHK Radio 5 still broadcasts Cantonese opera.
