The sound of the city

Radio in Dhaka dates back to 1939, when All India Radio opened the Dhaka station that grew into today's Bangladesh Betar. Dhaka's rock and pop scene gave Bangladesh Azam Khan and the bands Miles and Warfaze. Bengali radio, Indian radio and Nepali radio go further.

Listening from elsewhere

Dhaka keeps Bangladesh Standard Time — six hours ahead of UTC all year, with no daylight saving.
