Published 17 October 2026

You can listen to dubstep radio online in any browser, with no download and no account: open 72FM, search for "dubstep", and press play. The half-time, sub-bass music that came out of south London in the early 2000s has stations for its deep original sound, its louder American turn, and the chillstep and future garage that grew out of it.

Dubstep

• SomaFM Dub Step Beyond — dubstep, dub and deep bass from SomaFM, the most-voted pure dubstep station in the directory.
• DubTerrain — dub and dubstep from the UK.
• 1.FM - Dubstep Forward Radio — dubstep at 256 kbps.

UK bass

• Rinse UK — garage, grime, dubstep, jungle and house from Rinse, the London station that began as a pirate.
• UK Bass Radio — breakbeat hardcore, drum and bass, dubstep and garage.
• DNBRadio Main channel — drum and bass, dubstep and neurofunk.

The softer side

• Radio Caprice - Future Garage / Chillstep — future garage, chillstep and post-dubstep.

The sound

Dubstep grew out of UK garage in Croydon and south London around 2002: half-time drums, wobbling sub-bass and space, played at club nights such as FWD>> and on Rinse FM, then a pirate. Skream, Benga and Digital Mystikz built it; Burial's Untrue in 2007 turned it inward; and in America it became the louder, aggressive brostep of the 2010s. Drum and bass radio, electronic radio and London radio go further.

A route in

1. SomaFM Dub Step Beyond, for deep dubstep.
2. Rinse UK, for London's bass music.
3. Radio Caprice - Future Garage / Chillstep, for late at night.

Search for "dubstep" on 72FM to find them all, and save your favourite.
