About Hindi radio
Hindi radio is mostly film music: Bollywood songs, old and new, dominate the dial, alongside devotional channels and All India Radio's news. Bollywood radio, Indian radio and Delhi radio go further.
A little history
In the 1950s Radio Ceylon's Binaca Geetmala, presented by Ameen Sayani, made the Hindi film-song countdown a national habit. All India Radio answered with its own film-music service, Vividh Bharati, in 1957.
