Type a station's name and get the direct address of its live stream, the one a Wi-Fi radio, VLC, Sonos or a home-automation set-up asks for. The addresses are the ones the open Radio Browser directory lists for more than 30,000 stations. It is free and needs no account.
Choose Media, then Open Network Stream (on a Mac: File, then Open Network), paste the address and press Play.
Many sets let you add a station by address in their phone app or web page, often under a name like My stations or Add URL. Some older sets cannot play https addresses; if yours refuses one, look for an entry whose address starts with http.
Sonos takes custom addresses through TuneIn: add the address as a custom URL in your TuneIn account so that it shows in your TuneIn favourites, then open TuneIn inside the Sonos app. Sonos says the stream has to be MP3, AAC or WMA.
On the Yoto website, make a playlist for a Make Your Own card, press Add Stream and paste the address. If Yoto answers that it cannot find a supported stream, try an entry whose address is a plain MP3 or AAC stream rather than one ending in .m3u8.
Give the address to a media player's play media action as the media content, with the content type set to music. The Home Assistant guide linked below walks through it.
Download the one-station .m3u file and open it, or paste the address wherever the player asks for a network stream. With mpv it is the word mpv followed by the address.
More detail: using a stream address in VLC or a Wi-Fi radio · internet radio in Home Assistant · internet radio in Kodi.
The most-voted stations in the directory, with the address it lists for each. Every station's own page carries its address too.

On 72FM you can also browse stations by country and open any station to see its address.
It is the direct address of a station's live audio, the thing a player connects to. It is not the station's website, and it is usually not printed anywhere on that website. A typical one looks like http://example.com:8000/stream or https://example.com/live.mp3.
Type the station's name in the search box on this page. Each result shows the address the open Radio Browser directory lists for that station, with a button to copy it and one to download it as a one-station .m3u file.
From the open Radio Browser directory, a public database that volunteers and stations keep up to date. 72FM shows the address the directory lists and changes nothing in it. Stations move their streams from time to time, so an address that worked last month can stop.
Yes. Searching, copying an address and downloading the .m3u file need no account and no payment.
The three usual reasons: the device cannot play https and the address starts with https; the device wants MP3 and the station streams AAC or HLS (an address ending in .m3u8); or the station has moved its stream. Many stations are listed more than once with different formats, so try another entry for the same station.
We have not tested them there. Players of that kind usually want a direct MP3 stream address rather than a playlist file or an HLS link, so start with an entry whose format is MP3 and whose address does not end in .m3u8, .m3u or .pls.
Yes. The free M3U playlists linked on this page hold up to 300 addresses each, one file per country and per genre, and are rebuilt every week from the same directory.
The stations belong to their broadcasters; 72FM does not own, host or re-encode any stream. More free tools are on the tools page.
